Investigative experience grounded in law-enforcement and the courtroom

3 Pillars Consulting is led by a former state trooper and homicide detective with decades of experience conducting complex investigations, built to withstand legal scrutiny, not public opinion.
Having served as both a Maine state trooper, and a trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol, he has investigated thousands of motor vehicle crashes, including many fatal collisions. He served as a lead investigator on the largest multi-vehicle pileup in Maine state history, and as a single vehicle single occupant (SVSO) traffic fatality investigator for FHP. That work required precise scene documentation, evidence preservation, expert level crash analysis, and coordination with prosecutors and defense counsel on cases that routinely resulted in criminal charges and civil litigation.
He also helped pioneer DUI investigative case law that was later adopted as mandatory training for new officers, reinforcing his role, not only as an investigator, but as a contributor to legally defensible investigative standards.
As a homicide detective, he functioned as an investigative arm of the Attorney General for all homicides, suspicious deaths, and missing person cases statewide. He served as lead investigator on multiple homicide cases, carrying those investigations from initial response through prosecution, trial preparation and court proceedings. That role demanded meticulous documentation, neutral fact finding, and close collaboration with prosecutors, medical examiners, forensic specialists, and defense attorneys.
3 Pillars
The concept of “Three Pillars” has been used in various contexts, each with its own specific meaning and importance.
In business and management, the “triple bottom line” is often referred to as the three pillars of sustainability: economic, social, and environmental. This concept emphasizes the importance of considering not only economic performance but also social and environmental impact for a sustainable business.
In architecture and construction, the three pillars are the load-bearing columns, beams, and walls that provide essential support for a structure, ensuring its stability and strength.
In traditional Chinese philosophy, the three pillars are Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, representing the fundamental forces that shape the world and provide the basis for human existence.
At 3 Pillars Consulting LLC, we apply the concept of three pillars in a way to provide comprehensive and effective private investigation and security consulting services. Our three pillars are:

- Service: This refers to the service we provide. Conducting thorough and impartial investigation and security consulting services to include using appropriate investigative and interview techniques, proper collection and analysis of evidence and ensuring thorough security analysis. This embodies our commitment to providing exceptional and client-centered service throughout the entire engagement. It reflects our dedication to understanding and meeting the unique needs of our clients, delivering high-quality solutions, and exceeding their expectations.

- Communication: Maintaining ongoing communication with clients throughout the consultation, providing regular progress updates, discussing any issues that arise, and ensuring full client awareness of findings. This is our commitment to open, transparent, and effective communication throughout our relationship. It reflects our belief that clear and timely communication is essential for building trust, fostering collaboration, and achieving successful outcomes.

- Resolution: This refers to the process of resolving problems, disputes, security weaknesses or challenges in a thorough, fair, and effective manner. It involves reaching a decision or finding a solution that brings closure to the investigation, mitigates risks, and promotes positive change within the business or organization. As part of the resolution process, we provide actionable recommendations to address the root causes of the issues identified. These recommendations are based on our expertise and experience, aiming to prevent similar problems from recurring and improving organizational practices.
By working together, these three pillars help us identify and mitigate risks, protect our clients’ reputation and security, and ensures that we deliver exceptional value to our clients by providing a comprehensive and effective service.
